Associate Athletics Director and Executive Director for Intramural-Recreational Sports
The University of Virginia seeks experienced candidates for an Associate Athletics Director and Executive Director for Intramural-Recreational Sports (https://recsports.virginia.edu/). This role is a leadership position that reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director and Chief of Staff. Intramural-Recreational Sports (IM-Rec Sports) at the University of Virginia serves by supporting the total development and well-being of members of the University community through educational, intramural, fitness, recreational and social programming in high quality, comprehensive, sports, fitness and physical activity based facilities. IM-Rec Sports serves the University community with a wide range of quality opportunities to foster personal, educational, ethical, social and physical development through engaging University students in leadership and participatory opportunities. IM-Rec Sports places a high priority on student development for both the student employees and the students who use the facilities and participate in their programs. The leader in this role will have the opportunity to interact and work with University of Virginia Athletics (https://virginiasports.com/) closely to enhance and drive the mission.

While no single individual will possess all the desired experiences and qualifications, the successful candidate will possess many of the following attributes:
Must articulate a comprehensive view of the value of university intramural recreational sports on Grounds with maturity and sound judgment and be comfortable with ambiguity and fluid decision-making situations.
Extensive management and development experience in a college/university setting is preferred.
Education and Licensure
A Bachelor's Degree in Sport Administration or related field with significant relevant experience is required;
Master's degree preferred in Sports Administration, Recreation, Education, Organizational Management, Athletic or Public Administration, College Student Personnel, Health/Physical Education or a related field.
