Wright State Recreation is seeking 2 qualified professionals in the areas of 1) Facilities and 2) Fitness & Wellness. The first consideration date is August 9, 2019.
The Program Manager for Recreation Facilities is responsible for the management of recreation facilities located within the Student Union and the outdoor play spaces in the vicinity of the Student Union. The facilities include: rec commons, fitness center (11,400 sq. ft.), general and reserve locker rooms, outdoor recreation spaces (4 multi-use grass fields, 1 artificial turf field, and basketball courts), racquetball/squash courts (3), group fitness studios (3), recreation desk, gymnasium (5100 sq. ft.), and natatorium.
The Program Director for Fitness and Wellness is responsible for the organization and administration of the fitness and wellness programs within Campus Recreation. The position requires creativity and innovation to develop programs that are responsive to the needs of a diverse student population, including individuals with disabilities, programs that are campus-wide in scope and the ability to integrate related resources.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Administration, Student Personnel or a closely related field and one year of full time experience or two years of graduate assistant experience in recreation facility management. Strong interpersonal and decision making skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Administration, Student Personnel or a closely related field and three years of experience in recreation facility management. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification. Experience win campus recreation and/or university environment.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Fitness Management, or a health/fitness related field. A minimum of one year full time or two years graduate assistant work experience in fitness/wellness programs required with demonstrated skills in the following areas: • Plan and lead a variety of fitness activities • Knowledge of risk management issues in fitness • Strong interpersonal and decision making skills • Ability to work independently and with a team • Fitness Certification (i.e. ACSM, ACE, or AFAA)
•Master’s Degree in Exercise Science, Fitness Management, or a health/fitness related field. •Fitness screening and assessment experience •Ability to work with a diverse campus community including students with disabilities •Experience in campus recreation and/or university environment
