In this role you will act as a key member of the Athletics and Recreation management team. You will provide fiscal, operational, & human resources management for the IMS (Intramural Sport), Sport Clubs, Aquatics & First Aid operations. In consultation with the Associate Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing IMS programming for York University (Keele, Glendon, Markham), Aquatics & First Aid (Keele & Markham); and Sport Clubs (Keele, Glendon, Markham). You will undertake short- and long-term planning for the growth and efficient operation of all program areas and analyze program success through a variety of measures including (but not limited to): operational analysis (including KPI’s); cost benefit analysis; participant feedback/surveys; industry benchmarking; etc. You will be responsible for the supervision of full time (YUSA1) & part time (YUSA2) staff, Work Study, Summer Student, Part Time Casual, TCM, volunteer coaches, and student volunteers. This position requires commitment and adherence to the values and principles of Athletics & Recreation as expressed in the mandate of the department.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:
College Diploma in Recreation; University degree in Recreation, Kinesiology, Physical Education preferred; or other education diploma/degree with requisite experience. Standard First Aid and CPR is required. In addition, you will bring 3-5 years in sport and/or program administration at a post-secondary, municipal or other comparable environment. Experience providing supervision, direction and evaluation of unionized staff; responsibility for program design, delivery and evaluation; creation and management of budgets.
