Tthe Recreation Coordinator is responsible for intramurals, co-curricular sports programs, open recreational gym usage, off campus recreation and those programs designated as priority Jefferson community needs in accordance with the Jefferson Recreation & Fitness Center (Jeff Hall & Jefferson Tower) and Student Affairs. He/She will act as a resource for staff and students and shall display a willingness to work as a team member of the staff. Know and enforce all departmental policies and emergency procedures. This position is located on the Center City Campus (1020 Locust Street).
Acts as a resource for other staff in the areas of sports programs, student clubs and organizations, intramural sports and Member/Student group reservations.
Administer all aspects of intramural sports
Possess a thorough knowledge of recreation management software/point-of-sale systems and department policies and procedure and provide outstanding customer service.
Develop, promote, evaluate and update a comprehensive schedule of intramural programs and off campus recreation activites
Coordinate, promote and grow the reach of Wellness programs provided by the JRFC and campus partners.
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
Provide quality customer service. Know all facility rules and procedures and proactively enforce them while in the Wellness Center. Assist members as an informational resource for Wellness Center services and programs.
Attends all Student Life & Engagement meetings to report, discuss and evaluate progress and promote opportunities.
Attends Wellness Center Advisory Committee meetings to provide information on Recreation operations.
Update the recreation bulletin boards on an alternating monthly basis. Provide timely information on upcoming programming.
Markets programs as necessary utilizing website, social media platforms and all resources available.
Plans, organizes, and directs special events, as assigned.
Keeps current with sports trends and equipment needs. Attends conferences, workshops and trainings to maintain this knowledge.
Survey participants following all sports and co-curricular programs and keeps and maintains accurate participation statistics for analysis of trends.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
REQUIRED - Experience within a university recreation & fitness department and 2 years direct experience facilitating intramural sports on a collegiate campus.
Valid CPR Certification preferred
