Director of Univ Recreation & Wellness Programs - Ferris State University
The Director of University Recreation & Wellness is responsible for the management and implementation of comprehensive programs that promote health, fitness, and wellness. The position will oversee and administer all aspects of the Student Recreation Center operations. Additionally, the Director will supervise department staff and coordinate the development and implementation of department program initiatives in the areas of Intramural and Club Sports, Outdoor Recreation, the Rock Climbing Wall, the Aquatics Facilities, Group Exercise, and general health, fitness, and wellness to enhance the student life on campus. The position will collaborate with staff and faculty throughout the University to promote student development and learning to support retention efforts.
Required: A minimum of a master’s degree required in Recreation and Leisure Services, Student Affairs/Adult & Higher Education, Physical Education, Exercise Physiology, Health, Sports Management, or related field. Must maintain appropriate industry related professional licenses and/or certifications including First Aid and CPR/AED. Five years of progressive experience in campus recreation; or equivalent, including significant experience in personnel management, administrative decision-making, and facility management. Must live or be willing to relocate within 30 minutes of the Big Rapids Campus.
