The University of Mount Olive has an opening for a full-time Director of the Pope Wellness Center. This is a 12-month position. Duties include managing all aspects of the daily wellness center operations, staff supervision and training, student program development, and facility management. This position will train and supervise a master’s level, full-time Campus Intramurals and Recreation Coordinator. In addition, this position will be responsible for all student and part-time employees including fitness class instructors.
This position will report to the Vice President for Student Affairs and will work closely with the Student Affairs Office, other campus offices and community members to create collaborative programming on campus. The Pope Wellness Center is open to both the university community and the local town and community. The director will work closely with our local community members to ensure that the center actively meets their needs and maintains a good working relationship fostering our strong commitment to that population. This position will also work closely with the University’s athletic department through shared facilities, athlete development programs, and practice/events scheduling.
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree with 3-5 years of professional experience preferred. Must possess excellent organizational skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work productively with all members of the university and local community.
