The Office of Campus Recreation manages and oversees the operation of the college's recreational programming including 23 club sport teams, 11 intramural leagues, wellness classes, and the recreation facilities on campus. The intern's primary responsibility will be to assist with intramural staff supervision and trainings and aid in the student leadership development for the club sports. The intern will help in special projects throughout the academic year in anticipation of the opening of the new recreation and wellness center in Fall 2020. The intern is an hourly non-exempt position which will report to the Director of Campus Recreation.
Train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate student officials
Assist with student staff training
Planning and scheduling events
Promote and market intramural activities including print, digital and social media
Plan and lead captains' meetings and referee training sessions
Manage and assist with day-to-day intramural operations
Assist with club sport trainings and student leadership development
Assist with special campus recreation projects
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum of a bachelor's degree and/or needed for credit to finish degree
Previous experience in sports and recreation programs or facilities
Familiarity with current trends within recreational sports profession
Experience organizing teams and/or being an official
Excellent oral and written communication sills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Awareness of safety and risk management concerns
Providing positive and prompt customer service
