The goal of our internship program is to develop recreation professionals by immersing them in an intense, hands on experience. We are devoted to creating an environment through which our interns will grow professionally and personally.
Student Wellness and Recreation Center Facility Operations Internship:
As an intern with an emphasis inFacility Operations, you will be assisting with the operations of our two year old Student Wellness and Recreation Center. This multi-purpose facility engages our campus community through recreational, wellness, and educational opportunities. Your average work week will be 40 hours with duties including assisting with facility operations and management, marketing, employee training, equipment maintenance, special event management and student development.
North Idaho College is located in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho which is a premier location for outdoor recreation! With a multitude of skiing, hiking, biking, paddling, and climbing opportunities within 15 minutes of town, your access to the outdoors is unlimited. Pairing that with your access to our two year old recreation facility-- your days off are a guaranteed to be as adventurous as you are!
Terms and Compensation:
Spring 2020: Early January – Mid May; apply by October 25, 2019
Stipend: Interns will be paid $1,500 over the 4-month internship
Housing: Off campus, apartment housing is provided. Interns will share a bedroom and bathroom with someone of the same gender (dorm room style), and may share an apartment with someone of the opposite gender. Interns will not be asked to share a bedroom with someone of the opposite gender. Interns will sign a housing agreement that outlays the expectations and rules of the intern housing.

Pursuing a degree, requiring an internship within its curriculum
Knowledgeable about campus recreation programming and/or campus recreation facilities
An excellent communicator and a team player
Able to work flexible and often long hours
Able to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 75lbs
Additional Salary Information: $1,500 stipend to be paid over four month internship.
