1. Operate, manage, coordinate, and schedule quality programs for the Sanderson Center, RecPlex, Natatorium, and Sawyer Tennis Courts. Provide for the safety and hygiene of participants, spectators, and employees of these facilities. Be on-site or on-call during operational periods or have a designee otherwise available. 2. Recruit, hire, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate personnel for the Sanderson Center, Outdoor Adventures program, Youth Dawgs youth summer camp, and all pool personnel. This includes development of training sessions and in-service training and testing; discipline and counsel as needed; terminate when necessary. Maintain accurate records for all staff members including training records and counseling reports. 3. Maintain accurate program records and equipment inventories. Maintain records and reports of the day-to-day operation of the pool to include water clarity reports, water chemistry tests, maintenance schedules, repairs, and daily safety inspections. Prepare monthly and annual reports. 4. Plan and conduct annual Youth Dawgs Camp. Provide for the safety of participants. Be on-site or on-call during camp hours. Market, manage, and assess program. 5. Develop, direct, and manage water safety instruction programs. This includes Swim University swimming lessons, lifeguard training, and other courses as appropriate. 6. Supervise the planning and promotion of outdoor recreation trips and outdoor skills workshops. 7. Operate all programs and facilities within assigned budget constraints; maintain and review accurate records of income and expenses as necessary. 8. Assist the Director with short- and long-range planning for all areas of the department. Develop facilities, aquatics, and outdoor adventure program goals and objectives that support the department's mission. Perform additional duties as requested by the Director. 9. Develop and implement risk management policies for recreational sports facilities and programs. Provide feedback regarding the safety of programs, equipment, and facilities. This may be accomplished by conducting daily observations and/or by engaging in programs and using equipment and facilities. Immediately report safety concerns to the functional area director. 10. Attend all departmental and divisional meetings. Work with other University Recreation staff and other departments’ staff to provide special events. 11. Attend conferences, seminars, and meetings as permitted for professional development.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• Must be able to work in an environment in which water sanitation chemicals are present • Must be able to perform maintenance and custodial duties when necessary • Must be able to attend weekend and/or evening training sessions • Must be able to work on assigned weekends • Must be able to operate a 12-passenger van lawfully • Will be required to work outdoors despite inclement weather conditions when necessary
