Assistant Director of Facilities Department of Recreation Services Full Time
Manages the Student Recreation Center, and maintains a regular physical presence, including evenings and weekends
Manages and coordinates all evening, weekend, and late-night facilities activities and events to ensure quality experiences for all patrons. Communicating with Graduate Assistant and student staff on weekends and evenings is typical and regular.
Serves as liaison between the Recreation Services Department and various groups to insure successful facility scheduling for athletic, seasonal, special events and summer camps (various Southeast Athletics teams/individuals, SEMO Special Olympics, Camps and Conferences committee, etc).
Coordinates with Facilities Management, the Show-Me Center, and Athletics for the set-up, load-out, and custodial needs for events and camps
Provides direct supervision of one (1) Graduate Assistant and fifty (50) part-time student staff
Interview, hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate student staff and assist in the supervision of Practicum, Intern and volunteer students
Scheduling of the Student Recreation Center, Upper Parker Gymnasium, and all Intramural/Recreational field spaces
Creates all non-aquatics related work orders, and in coordination with Facilities Management, the completion of said orders
Supervision of operations center monetary procedures to ensure financial accountability
Assist in the planning and implementation of departmental student staff in-services and trainings (First Aid, CPR, AED, risk management)
Administer department policy and procedures to ensure the quality delivery of services to patrons
Assist with departmental special events

Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in recreation or related field
Demonstrated management/administrative skills including excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated facilities experience (scheduling and staffing of various facility locations and field spaces)
Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as a team player
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
