As a member of the Executive Team this position will provide leadership and serve as a resource for professional staff members in the areas of sponsorship and advertising solutions, alumni relations, fund raising, University Foundation accounts, grant writing, assessment, and technology. Utilize vision, creativity, innovation, judgment, initiative, assessment, problem solving, and communication skills to ensure quality external relations, sponsorship and technology plans. Assist with the solicitation of national, regional and local entities for sponsorship, grants, endowments, donations, and other resource development concepts. Establish funding partnerships and lead sponsorship development for Campus Recreation events and initiatives. Provide strategic sponsorship and advertising planning in coordination with Campus Recreation leadership. As a member of the Executive Team, this position works with the director and other associate directors to establish strategic initiatives, goals, objectives, and action plans; conduct research and assessments; write and submit grant proposals; coordinate special projects; supervise staff members; provide fiscal management; and evaluate Campus Recreation programs and services. Ensure the continued professional development of staff members in assigned areas. Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Relations, Communication Studies, Advertising, Recreation Administration, Sport Management, Sociology, Psychology, Leadership, Marketing, Education or related field plus five years of sponsor solicitation, public relations, fundraising, promotions, advertising, alumni affairs or sport/event management experience. Supervisory, public relations, computer, and excellent organization skills. Experience in sponsor solicitation, strategic marketing or event promotion essential. Must have proficiency in resource development concepts including the solicitation of sponsorships, grants, endowments, and donations. Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills essential. CPR/First/Aid or the ability to obtain within six months of employment.
Master’s degree in Business, Public Relations, Communication Studies, Advertising, Recreation Administration, Sport Management, Sociology, Psychology, Leadership, Marketing, Educational Administration or related field preferred. More than five years of sponsor solicitation, public relations, fund raising, promotions, advertising, alumni affairs, or sport/event management experience desirable. Event administrative experience, to include strategic planning, and budget development and management preferred.
