University Recreation at the University of Arkansas is seeking candidates for Graduate Assistant positions in the following areas to help them achieve their mission to empower students for success through recreation and wellness:
Club and Intramural Sports (2 positions open): Graduate Assistant for Club and Intramural Sports will assist in the development of student officials, planning intramural sports activities, advising bi-weekly club sports officer meetings, managing the adherence of university processes pertaining to club sports, leading professional development opportunities for club sports officers and assisting UREC with annual departmental events and initiatives. Facility Operations: Graduate Assistant in Facility Operations is responsible for assisting in all administrative aspects of UREC facilities, including the Donna Axum Fitness Center and UREC Fitness Center. This includes, but is not limited to, managing day-to-day operations, supervising staff, assisting with financial and participation reports, inventory, and maintaining equipment. Assessment and Data Analytics: Graduate Assistant of Assessment will assist with departmental data analysis, assessment planning, and reporting. FA will assist with assessment design, oversee data collection, and analyze data from aggregated data sources. GA will also prepare data to aid in cyclical monthly or yearly reporting and participate in departmental assessment efforts. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: All Graduate Assistantships require a Bachelor’s degree and acceptance into the University of Arkansas Graduate School. Preference is given to candidates in the following majors: Higher Education, Recreation and Sport Management, or Kinesiology.
Compensation: Graduate Assistants receive a $14,600 stipend annually plus tuition waiver (fees excluded) and professional development stipend (pending funding) for a minimum of 28 work hours per week. Each Graduate Assistantship begins June 29, 2020 and concludes June 30, 2021 with the option to renew for a 2nd year.
