Position Summary: The Assistant Athletic Director for Recreation & Facilities is responsible for providing leadership for Athletic and Recreation operations, with primary oversight of the Danzi Athletic Center and the comprehensive sports and recreation programs it provides for students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community.

Experience with event coordination, planning and scheduling of facilities
Ability to effectively manage a team
Knowledge of fitness and athletic equipment
Ability to work and cooperate with individuals in other campus departments (i.e.,Building and Grounds, Conference Services)
Effective decision making and negotiating skills
Demonstrate a commitment to continued learning/professional development
CPR/AED, First Aid, Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor, Certified Pool Operator certifications necessary.
Capacity to lift and move heavy objects
Ability to stand and/or walk for more than 4 hours per day
Provide leadership and direction for the College’s Recreation and Intramural programs
Primary oversight and day to day management of the Danzi Athletic Center
Ensure a variety of sport and recreation programs are planned and implemented;Evaluate effectiveness of programs and identify future needs.
Serve as sport administrator as designated by Director of Athletics
Assist with setup, hosting and supervision of all internal and external events occurring in Danzi Center.
Serve as liaison with Conference Services, Campus Events, Grounds and Facility Services.
Hire, train and oversee appropriate staff for all areas within facility to include fitness instructors, work study students, lifeguards and part time staff.
Responsible for the formulation and implementation of policies and procedures for facility.
Maintain proper state/county building codes and inspection certificates.
Ensure safety, cleanliness and security of facility.
Experience Required: 3-5 years’ experience in Athletic/Recreation facilities, operations, scheduling and event management.
Special Working Conditions: Required to work weekends and evenings.
