Job Summary: The Graduate Assistant of Competitive Sports is a leadership position that works collaboratively within an extensive Intramural Sports and Club Sports program housed under Campus Recreation. The Graduate Assistant is expected to provide administrative support to the Coordinator of Competitive Sports and is considered part of the Campus Recreation professional staff and programming team. This position is a 2 year commitment as a full-time graduate student and will work an average of 20 hours per week. Night and weekend hours may apply as well as other job specific duties as assigned.
Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, evaluate and provide leadership to student staff for both intramural and club sports
Assist in running club sport leadership development and officer training
Plan, develop and implement all Intramural Sports events
Promote and market Intramural and Club Sports activities and events
Assist with student payroll, budget planning, policy development, and equipment/facility inventory and purchasing process

What We Offer
Our Graduate Assistant position offers a 9 month contract that includes full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend of $812.50

What We Require
Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and be accepted into MTSU graduate school and academic program of your choice
Must be CPR/First Aid/AED certified or willing to obtain certification upon hire
What We Prefer
Experience working in supervisory role within competitive sports at the student level
Experience in training Intramural Sports officials
Experience in running Intramural Sports events
Experience in training club sports officers
Experience with kids camps
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience in marketing Campus Recreation events
CPR/First Aid/AED instructor certification
