The Graduate Assistant will work with the Club Sports Coordinator and other essential staff to ensure the day to day operations of the club sports program that consists of over 50 organizations. Special emphasis will be placed on planning, development, and implementation of leadership curriculum for students participating in recreational sports programming, including E-Sports.
Essential Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Other essential and non-essential responsibilities and projects may be assigned:
Assist in all budgeting that related to Club Sports.
Creates develops, and updates administrative as well as program policies and procedures within the areas of responsibility.
Collaborate with other institutional departments and offices to promote club sports events and programming.
Lead presentations and seminars that effectively communicate departmental policies and procedures to student leaders.
Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the club sports program.
Collaborate effectively with student leaders to identify opportunities for growth.
Help update all policies and procedure manuals for Club Sports.
Serve as the co-advisor of the Club Sports Board and subsequent committees including regular attendance at meetings and retreats
Provide supervision and assistance to the club sports intern(s)
Assists in the operation, preparation, forecasting and monitoring of income and expense budgets as it relates to the club sports program area.
Assess effectiveness and satisfaction of program based on the Division of Student Affairs standards.
Prepare regular written communication such as monthly and annual reports, financial and participation reports, and equipment inventory reports as needed.
Create, encourage, and support professional development opportunities for staff, including professional association involvement, training programs, and individual mentoring. (Stipend may be available)
Build strong partnerships with UC Athletics and campus recreation as well as other departments and vendors.
Communicate with off-campus club sport practice/competition sites to ensure compliance with assigned Risk Management Plans.
Provide direction and oversight in accordance with the mission and goals of the department, division, and university.
Complete comprehensive analytical and statistical reports regarding club sports practices, contests, and programming.
Maintain all Club Sports CampusLINK, websites, and social media accounts with current information
Evening/Weekend work responsibility as required.
Work within a non-smoking environment.
Other duties as required.
Office setting as well as indoor and outdoor recreational facilities
Moderate to loud noise
Occasional regional and national travel
Sitting at desk or table for at least 50% of the work day
Standing or walking for at least 50% of the work day
Supervise Sport Club contests/practices when needed

Current American Red Cross First Aid/ CPR Certifications or ability and desire to obtain within one month of starting employment
Some knowledge of leadership theories and best practices in recruitment and student development.
Basic accounting knowledge; capability of understanding budgets.

Ability to work effectively with CampusLabs organization management
Additional Salary Information: Two semesters of tuition waiver (provided by Sports Administration program and CECH)
