Graduate assistant position in Facility Management and Supervision opening for the Fall 2020 semester.
Assist with daily facility operations and programming at the Campus Recreation Center, a 180,000 square foot facility.
Assist with hiring, training, supervision, promotion, and evaluation of 70 facility operations staff.
Assist with locker room organization and sales of over 900 lockers.
Assist in the planning, staffing, invoicing, and supervision of special events in the facility.
Create and organize programs for employee recognition and student professional development.
Assist with facility maintenance, including processing work orders and service requests.
Assist with facility equipment inventory and equipment rental.
Assist with facility policies and procedures development, revisions, and enforcement among staff.
Provide quality customer service to all facility patrons.
Maintain employee files for Desk Attendants and Facility Supervisors.
Conduct monthly facility audits with Associate Director.
Serve as professional staff (some weekend coverage) on duty for overall management and supervision of all staff, programs, and recreational sports facilities to include opening and closing facility, managing customer-related situations, and responding to emergencies as needed.
Assist full-time staff in presentations of staff in-service training programs.
Attend State, Regional, and National conferences to further professional development (dependent on available time & funding).
Candidates must be willing to become an instructor in American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED and teach courses for the department as needed.
Candidates may have the opportunity to assist the Associate Director with the planning and implementing of an international trip (study abroad) for our department.
Performing other duties as assigned.
There is an option of working in the facility this summer prior to the fall semester.
Graduate admission requirements vary by program.
Must be enrolled on a full-time basis (required but not to exceed 6 semester hours per semester) to receive graduate assistantship, stipend, and tuition waivers.
Eligible candidates must be available to begin work preferably by July 1st, 2020.
