The Intramural Sports Graduate Assistant assists in the overall operations of the intramural sports program. The graduate assistant works closely with all student staff, program participants, and facility operations staff to execute the intramural program. This position also requires to work with Department of Athletics personnel that do not report to the Mort Harris RFC.
Knowledge of intramural sports rules and regulations
Maintain a schedule of 20 hours per week
General supervision of all intramural activity regardless of location
Maintain positive relations and rapport with other members of the Athletics Department
Communicate effectively with student staff and professional staff
Create and execute all officials trainings and clinics
Market all intramural activities to all members of the Wayne State
Ensure all safety precautions are met and executed
Hire, train, and evaluate intramural sports officials and supervising staffs (20-25)
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
2 years of experience supervising and officiating within a collegiate intramural sports program
Ability to instruct and lead sports official’s clinics and trainings
Familiarity with IMLeagues.com intramural software
Able to use Microsoft office suite software
Additional Salary Information: Summer hourly employment is possible. Medical, Vision, and Dental insurance for 12 months is also included. In State Tuition Waiver for up to 10 graduate completed credits per semester of the academic year. Applicant selected must also be accepted to a graduate program.
