The Assistant Director of Campus Recreation is responsible for organizing, administering, supervising and evaluating the Intramural and Sport Club components of Campus Recreation, including the hiring, training, scheduling, supervision and payroll preparation for all intramural student employees. The position is responsible for supporting Sport Club Travel and risk management policies within Campus Recreation. Plymouth State Campus Recreation takes pride in being a Small Programs Leader within NIRSA and is involved on the Regional and National Levels. Campus Recreation is a part of the Student Life Department within the division of Communications, Enrollment Management, and Student Life (CESLife).

Bachelor’s degree in related field and three years’ professional experience in a supervisory programmatic position in recreation or sports, including at least one year of full time staff supervision.
Thorough knowledge of sports and their organization and administration.
Knowledge of the area of facility management and maintenance.
Ability to collaborate with staff members, students and/or faculty on a daily basis.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
CPR/First Aid Instructor as required or willingness to acquire within 3 months of employment.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in related field.
Certified to teach AED.
Certified Recreational Sports Specialist through the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA).
Knowledge of training officials and supervisory staff.
Prior experience in working with a college-aged population in a university setting.
Experience in proper selection, use and maintenance of fitness equipment and in managing fitness facilities.
Advanced organizational skills.
Strong computer skills and thorough familiarity with social media technology (FB, Twitter, blogging, etc).
General enthusiasm, positive attitude, a self-starter and team player with the ability to instill the same in others.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience within NIRSA
