Oversee the Control Desk operation to include all sales (memberships, towels, lockers, programs). Ensure cash handling procedures are followed by student employees. Maintain membership database. Responsible for opening the Activity Center M – F (6:45am). Oversee student employee leadership and development. Assist with the recruitment, screening, hiring, training and evaluation of student employees. Responsible for maintaining fitness equipment at the Activity Center to include cleaning schedules, maintenance schedules and replacement of equipment. Serve as chair for department risk management committee, to include, meetings, red shirt drills, and over risk mitigation.
Reports to the Associate Director for Facility Operations.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Job requires for you to periodically walk around the facility and stand for short lengths of time. Some pushing/pulling is requiring for certain tasks.
Most of the job is indoors, but at times must go outside to check on fields and turn on or off lights.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; experience in developing and operating a fitness program; certification in CPR & First Aid; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Master’s degree in recreation or related field. Experience in facility management, student supervision and cash handling.
