CU Denver Wellness and Recreation Services is seeking qualified applicants for a graduate level Competitive Sports Program Manager with the intention of professional skill development in Intramural Sports the first year and Club Sports the second year, with other Wellness and Recreation duties included. This position will work closely with the Assistant Director of Competitive Sports to grow these relatively new programs in a primarily commuter institution setting.
$2500/semester tuition assistance scholarship
20+ hours/week paid - $13/hr
Additional scholarships through the Business School available
Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training, evaluation, and development of approximately 15 student employees
Assist in the development, coordination, and evaluation of a comprehensive Competitive Sports program to include team, dual and individual sports leagues, tournaments, special events, and 15 Club Sports
Provide onsite supervision for Competitive Sport activities
Manage IMLeagues web based scheduling and participant registration program for Intramural Sports programming
Assist with developing and implementing marketing plan for Competitive Sports
Adhere to appropriate risk management plans and Wellness and Recreation Services Emergency Action plans
Enforce policies and procedures relating to Competitive Sports programs
Other duties such as: Facility Supervising, Special Events, etc.
Acceptance into CU Denver Business School Master’s degree program – preference given to MBA/MS Marketing with specialization in Sports and Entertainment
Desire to work in campus recreation professionally
Campus recreation supervisor experience preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office, IMLeagues, and social media platforms
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent conflict resolution skills and ability to work well in a team setting
