The Department of Campus Recreation with Wright State University is seeking a Program Manager for Facilities to assist in the day to day operation of facilities within our department. As part of the Campus Recreation team, this position is responsible for overseeing our 11,400 square feet fitness center, general and reserve locker rooms, five multi-use grass fields, one artificial turf field, basketball courts, three racquetball/squash courts, three group fitness studios, 5,100 square feet gymnasium, and swimming pool/natatorium. In addition, this position hires, trains, and supervises approximately 40 student employees.

Essential Job Functions Include:
Manage approximately 60,000 square feet of indoor recreational facilities within the Student Union, and outdoor recreation spaces. Develop, maintain and update policies, procedures and operational manuals. Develop and administer an overall operational plan and supervise the daily activities for these facilities. Manage reservations for rec facilities by internal and external customers. (40%)
Hire, train, schedule, supervise and develop recreation facility staff which may include graduate assistants and approximately 40 student employees who provide staffing for the natatorium, fitness center, recreation desk, and gymnasium. (30%)
Assist with the development and monitoring of the budget for recreation facilities. This includes maintaining revenues streams through memberships and rentals, developing and managing a comprehensive refurbishment and replacement plan for equipment, furnishings and finishes. (10%)
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the following units through formal and informal contact: Student Union and Campus Recreation Staff, Athletic Department, Kinesiology and Health Department, Dayton Raiders Swim Club, Greene County Health Department, Campus Community, Physical Plant, and Environmental Health and Safety. (10%)
Collect, analyze and report usage data for each recreation area. Prepare informal weekly reports and formal quarterly and annual reports reflecting current and comparative data. (5%)
Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Student Union for Campus Recreation. (5%)
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Administration, Student Personnel or a closely related field and one year of full time experience, or two years of graduate assistant experience in recreation facility management, with strong interpersonal and decision making skills. Preferred Qualifications include a Master’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Administration, Student Personnel or a closely related field and three years of experience in recreation facility management. Additional preferred qualifications include Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification and experience in campus recreation and/or university environment.
