CRI Programs: The CRI Operations Specialist supervises the Group Fitness and Special Events Programs, concentrating on supervising all aspects of the Group Fitness Program designed to focus on developing and maintaining quality fitness programming for participants; assists with special event management for indoor and outdoor events/facilities/programs.
Recruits, hires, develops, and supervises 15-30 Group Fitness Instructors.
Develops, implements, supervises, and evaluates Group Fitness and Special Events programs on a semester/annual basis.
Directs and manages fitness equipment cleaning, preventative, and routine maintenance for 4 studios.
Develops and facilitates Group Fitness Instructor training program on a semester basis.
Plans, coordinates, and implements program marketing to include: publicity and promotion, recruitment of participants, print and social media, and maintenance of positive public relations.
Collaborates with campus partners and academic units to promote fitness/wellness related programming.
Ensures compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
Facilitates semester audit of certification requirement standards for staff.
Manages special events to include: camps, tournaments, and indoor/outdoor program events.
Performs related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree; Group Fitness Instructor Certification and/or Personal Training Certification from a nationally accredited body; one or more years of related work experience; effective communication skills (verbal and written); developed organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; and successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field; Personal Trainer and/or Fitness Instructor Certification in multiple modalities; CPR/AED Instructor Certified.
Preferred Experience: Experience training instructors or personal trainers; working in a university setting; and/or purchasing fitness equipment.

Campus Recreation and Intramurals (CRI) is a team oriented/student learning workplace that is currently comprised of 30 full-time professional employees and over 350 student employees. Campus Recreation and Intramurals operates a state of the art, 215,000 square foot facility known as the RAC or Recreation Activity Center. The RAC is the center piece of the 15-acre M.C. Anderson Park which includes lighted fields to accommodate softball, flag football, soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, rugby and lacrosse. CRI also operates a 18-hole championship golf course located at University Park approximately 6 miles from campus. The course was rated one of the Top 25 new courses by Golf Digest for 2014. Opened in the Fall of 2015, CRI also operates the Shooting Sports Education Center (SSEC) adjacent to the RAC. It features 30,000 square feet of dedicated recreation space to the shooting sports of archery and firearms.
