The Personal Training Graduate Assistant will work cooperatively with the staff at Campus Recreation in all phases of programming and administration for Personal Training. Including but not limited to: supervision of part-time staff, Personal Training clients, staff development, teaching the Personal Training Prep course, outreach for the University and Lincoln communities, risk management, payroll and budget. Some early morning, evening and weekend hours will be required.
Assist with the recruitment, hiring, scheduling and evaluation of personal training staff
Instruct the Personal Trainer Prep class
Track sales of personal training packages
Manage payroll and assist with budgeting
Organize and develop in-service meetings
Assist with coordinating small group trainings
Perform outreach fitness and educational services to the University community through classes, seminars and special events
Participate on Campus Recreation or campus committees, special promotions and events
Teach CPR and assist with risk management trainings
Assist with administrative duties as needed
Hours and Compensation
20 hours per week
Full tuition waiver with the exception of student fees
Monthly stipend of $1620/month

Bachelor’s Degree or currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, sports fitness, exercise science, kinesiology, physical education, recreation, health education or a related field.
Certified as a Personal Trainer by the NSCA, ACSM, ACE or comparable accredited organization
CPR/First Aid/AED Certification and Instructor Certification or obtain upon employment.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
Exceptional organizational abilities.
Two years experience personal training
One or more certifications as Group Fitness Instructor, small group training, USAW or other specialized fitness certifications
