Coordinate the event management for University Recreation and support campus events including: Student Organizations, Club Sports Practices and Competitions, CMU campus partners events, and Outside Group Events, Responsible for providing the supervision, training, hiring and scheduling for the Student Operations Staff. Serve as a member of the department’s safety team. Serve a Facility Manager and or Building Supervisor as assigned. Attend project/event meetings as requested. Nights and weekends work as assigned All other duties as assigned.
Certification Requirement: Red Cross CPR-PR certification desired.

Additional Salary Information: Stipend/Academics
Assistantship yearly compensation is stipend at $11,000 for a 10-month position and tuition waiver for 20 credit hours of coursework (August-July). Additional credit hours will be billed at the in-state rate. All graduate assistants are classified as Michigan residents for tuition purposes and will receive their appropriate tuition remission for courses which they take during their assistantship and the subsequent summer session. This does not apply for non-refundable enrollment fees, student services fees or any special courses fees, which will remain the responsibility of the graduate assistant.
Professional development and extensive training opportunities are available and encouraged. These opportunities can occur but not limited to within the department, the Graduate Assistant Learning community, and within the University.
Effective dates of appointment: Academic year (August to May).
