South Dakota State University Wellness Center is offering an exciting career opportunity as a Member Services Coordinator. We are looking for a creative, team orientated and innovative professional to join us in early Fall 2020. This is a 12 month, full-time, benefit eligible position. This position is supervised by Mariah Weber, Wellness Center Assistant Director.
The Member Services Coordinator will oversee and facilitate the department’s memberships, programs and services, registration, sales, and outreach. Primary service responsibilities include providing and monitoring facility access, membership services and program registration for the SDSTATE students, faculty, staff and Brookings community. This position has significant administrative and financial responsibilities. A vital component of this position is strong customer service, software administration, staff development and team work.
Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management/Administration, Business, or a closely related field completed by first day of employment
One to three years of experience in related field
Demonstrated experience with supervision
Experience in managing or working with a budget effectively
Ability to work with multiple software platforms
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed; occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends
Master’s Degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or a closely related field completed by first day of employment
Demonstrated leadership in developing or leading college student staff
Experience with insurance or other corporate reimbursement programs
Involvement in the NIRSA organization
CPR/AED/First Aid certification
