The Assistant Director for Club Sports is an 11-month position that provides leadership for the Student Government Association’s Club Sports program that includes about 60 clubs with approximately 1,800 participants. This position will report to the Associate Director for Student Life and will:
Oversee compliance with Student Government Association (SGA), Risk Management, and UVM policies.
Market and promote club sports opportunities and events.
Assist clubs with budgeting of financial resources allocated from SGA.
Oversee management and development of club officers.
Oversee management of club sports coaches including supervision of two full time program directors (Rowing & Sailing) and oversight of temporary employees and volunteers.
Develop and implement programming initiatives to support Hazing Awareness Month.
Assist the SGA finance office with processing payments for club sports related activities.
Assist in the development and implementation of student organization leadership development opportunities along with ActivitiesFest and Winter ActivitiesFest (student organization fairs).
Shows a demonstrated commitment to diversity and social justice by developing initiatives that improve climate and increase access in all Club Sports by non-majority populations.
Serve as an actively engaged campus partner and representative of Student Life.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Education or related field and one to three years of related experience required. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and motivate employees/students required. Effective computer skills and ability to learn financial software required. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work successfully with diverse populations including students, students of color, faculty, administrators, staff, and community members required. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice and inclusion required.
Desirable Qualifications: Experience with Club Sports in a University setting highly desirable. Familiarity with University policies, standards and procedures in related areas desirable.
