This position is primarily responsible for assisting with the management, supervision, scheduling and operation of the Fitness Center (The Core) and Rental Services (Gear Central) to ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment. The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for training, evaluating, and supervising the Crimson Crew staff, along with program development and management.
Assist in the selection, training, supervision, and development of student staff for assigned areas
Manage Fusion, Connect2, & WhenToWork software and all associated rental controls at Gear Central; including lockers, merchandise and rental inventory, as well as lost and found systems
Support with the management of The Core fitness center, including daily operations, supervision, safety and risk management, along with policy enforcement
Submit work orders, service requests, inventory management and supervision of purchase orders
Contribute to the facilitation of departmental special events
Assist full-time staff with in-services, trainings, supervisor meetings, etc.
Configure schedules for all academic terms and breaks, and resolve scheduling conflicts as they arise
Complete departmental deposits and review payroll as needed
Minimum of one year experience in recreation programs including operations, personnel supervision, or student development
GA must have a 3.0 grade point or higher and have taken the GRE, GMAT or LSAT
Demonstrated ability to lead and learn and proven capacity to effectively communicate with guests, staff, and colleagues
CPR, First Aid and AED certifications preferred
Additional Salary Information: Compensation
•This is a nine month position, 20 hours/week with a $15,000 stipend, tuition waiver, and renewal after successful first year. Professional development funding and summer employment may be available.
•20 hours a week, this will include weekends, evenings, and holidays (University Breaks & Winter Intersession)
•Stipend is August 16 to May 15 (summer hours may be available)
