A position will be offered and then the student will need to apply to the graduate program of their choosing.

Aquatics Graduate Assistant:
The Aquatics Operations Graduate Assistant (GA) reports directly to the Coordinator of Aquatics and Safety. The Aquatics GA is responsible for enforcing policies and procedures, which contribute to the direct supervision, operation, and advancement of the Aquatic Program. Under the supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator, the Aquatics GA serves as a leader to Aquatic Managers, Building Supervisors, Lifeguards, Red Cross Instructors, Learn-to-Swim Instructors, and Service Desk Attendants. The Aquatics GA will oversee daily operations of Aquatic facilities; Pools, HPER Building, and HPER Service Desk. This GA will assess the program and provide staff support. The GA will also assist in the facility supervision which includes: Aggie Legacy Fields, HPER Building, new rec fields, Fieldhouse, and Aggie Recreation Center. Participating as an active team member to the USU Campus Recreation Center Staff will be the expectation of the Graduate Assistant.
The Competitive Sports Graduate Assistant (GA) will report directly to the Coordinator of Competitive Sports. The Competitive Sports GA will be responsible for implementing policies and procedures, which contribute to the supervision, operation, and advancement of both the Club Sports, Intramural Sports, and Unified Sports Programs. The GA will oversee the daily operation of sports activities, special events, registration process, plan and lead various referee/officer meetings, assess the programs, and provide staff support. The GA will also assist in the facility supervision which includes: Aggie Legacy Fields, HPER Building, Fieldhouse, new rec fields, and Aggie Recreation Center. Participating as an active team member to the USU Campus Recreation Center Staff will be the expectation of the Graduate Assistant.
The Fitness and Wellness Graduate Assistant (GA) will report directly to the Coordinator of Fitness and Wellness. The Graduate Assistant is responsible for implementing policies and procedures, which contribute to the direct supervision, operation and advancement of the Fitness and Wellness Programs. The GA will assist in the management duties associated with Fitness and Wellness Programs, including public interaction and sales, recruiting, hiring, staff training, staff supervision, evaluation, and scheduling with Personal Training, Group Exercise, and Strength & Conditioning. The GA will also design and implement Wellness programming, specifically focused on nutrition and mental health. The GA will also assist in the facility supervision which includes: Aggie Legacy Fields, new rec fields, HPER Building, Fieldhouse, and Aggie Recreation Center. Participating as an active team member to the USU Campus Recreation Center Staff will be the expectation of the Graduate Assistant.
The primary responsibility of the Graduate Assistant for Marketing & Brand Management is to work directly with the Coordinator of Information Technology and Marketing to enhance the overall marketing for the Department of Campus Recreation. This is a production/deadline-oriented position with the need for developing highly creative concepts and progressive use of marketing trends effective for a unique college audience. This Graduate Assistant will be responsible for a variety of marketing initiatives including advertising, promotions, branding, campus outreach, social media, email marketing, video creation, signage, and staff training. The GA will also assist in the facility supervision which includes: Aggie Legacy Fields, HPER Building, new rec fields, Fieldhouse, and Aggie Recreation Center. Participating as an active team member to the USU Campus Recreation Center Staff will be the expectation of the Graduate Assistant.
• Enrollment in Utah State University Graduate Studies Program
• Must have a 3.0 GPA in the last 60 credit hours of the undergraduate program
• At least in the 40th percentile on the GRE or MAT
• Student Fees and Tuition Differentials are the responsibility of the graduate assistant
Additional Salary Information: $10,000 stipend, plus full tuition, and subsidized insurance is available. Student fees/tuition differentials are to be paid by the student. Up to an additional $1,000 for professional development opportunities. This position is a 10-month appointment with summer work opportunities available. Employment dates: 08/02/21 – 05/27/22 and 08/01/22 – 05/26/23. Year two is contingent upon satisfactory job performance.

The Department of Campus Recreation at Utah State University is housed in the Division of Student Affairs and is one of the most dynamic growing departments on campus. Home to 18 professional staff members and five graduate assistants. Campus Recreation strives to serve students with top-notch programs and services.
