Club Sport & Student Development (1)
Graduate Apprentice for Club Sports and Student Development
The Graduate Apprentice for Club Sports and Student Development will assist the Assistant Director of Sport Programs with the management, administration and staff supervision of the club sport program. The Graduate Apprentice will also assist with the facilitation of student development initiatives which includes department wide hiring process, advising department committees and advisory councils and provide other department wide student development opportunities. Other duties include assisting in policy and procedure development, budget planning, league/tournament scheduling and sport/event programming. There will be on-site event coverage for club sport practices and competitions. Evening and weekend work will be required. The Graduate Apprentice will assist with the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of student wellness staff. Other duties include assisting in policy and procedure development, budget planning, staff scheduling and program development. There will be on-site event coverage for programs and events. Compensation: Stipends each year are $15,500 with significant amount of funding for scholarships awarded to qualified applicants. Apprenticeship stipends are paid in equal installments over the 10 months (August-May) of their apprenticeship each year.
Dates of Employment: August 2, 2021 - May 17, 2022. Opportunities for summer employment between years of service. Second years dates are TBD. Dates are subject to change.
Terms of Employment: Positions are offered for two-years but are contingent on continued academic success and satisfactory job performance.
Academic Requirements: All graduate apprentices must gain acceptance into Elon Master of High Education (MHE) program. Applicants must apply and be provisional admitted to MHE program prior to applying for graduate apprentice positions. For more information about the MHE program, please visit this website.
