UNK Campus Recreation is looking for a motivated self-starter, who exhibits great attention to detail and values working in a fast paced, team environment. Under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation, the Member Services Coordinator will serve on a team responsible for the daily operation and management of Campus Recreation facilities at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Campus Recreation is a department within the Division of Student Affairs that provides recreation and wellness programming to the campus community through the operation and administration of the following: Wellness Center, Cushing Coliseum, Climbing Wall, Intramural Sports & Outdoor Adventures. Campus Recreation is comprised of 3 full-time staff, 4 graduate assistants and more than 75 student staff members.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Member Services Coordinator will assist facilitation of the department’s memberships, programs and services. Primary responsibilities include providing leadership and direction towards the planning and execution of programs and initiatives, oversee daily operations of Campus Rec facilities, and administer membership services and program registration. This position also has significant administrative and financial responsibilities including but not limited to; customer service, clerical tasks, software administration, staff development and team work.
Primary Functions
• Provide leadership and direction towards the planning and execution of Campus Recreation programs and initiatives • Assist with the hiring, training and development of student employees • Develop and execute an on-going customer service training program • Oversee daily operations including but not limited to: monitor facility access and equipment usage, on site assistance to patrons and student staff, assist coordination of facility scheduling for events and programs • Assist with Campus Recreation administrative office operations • Provide customer service to Campus Recreation members, this includes students, faculty, staff, alumni and the greater Kearney community. Those duties include answering telephone calls and emails, greeting, directing and providing information to said members. • Provide administrative/clerical support and assists the Assistant Director in the effective and efficient operation of Campus Recreation programs and facilities. • This position has significant administrative and financial responsibilities including managing all point of sale policies and procedures. • Must be able to work independently on regularly performed duties, must have strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, be a self-starter, dependable and flexible. • Maintain and organize files and perform accurate filing system. • Operate standard office equipment such as fax, phone systems, printers, copier and computers; exhibit knowledge and use of email, Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.) for recording, storing, retrieving, and compiling information. • Must be willing to learn and utilize new business technologies. • Assist with financial records by preparing, recording and filing purchase orders and invoices to SAP and our filing system and reconciling SAP reports. • Must have a high level of professional discretion and maintain confidentiality of all department communications especially related to sensitive data including financial documentation, salaries, and correspondence. • Maintain a professional office atmosphere. • Work collaboratively with other campus entities to ensure a clean and safe environment for students, staff and guests. • Responsible for researching, purchasing, inventory and budgeting for office and facility supplies and equipment. • Responsible to review and approve student employee time entry through ESS. • Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree, 1-3 years’ work experience in related field, excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional team focus with the ability to multitask, ability to troubleshoot and problem solve issues as they arise, proficiency with Microsoft office.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1-3 years’ work experience in customer service, sales, marketing, training, ability to understand workflow technologies and reporting tools, understand, follow and explain university policy and procedures, a sincere desire to serve students.
