Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating aquatics staff. Assist with the development, programming, and coverage of aquatics events. Assist with department risk management including “Red Shirt Drills” and maintaining records of all staff certification dates. Conduct staff training(s) and audits for aquatics staff as well as maintain First Aid supplies and kits for the building and programming. This Graduate Assistant will also have the opportunity to gain experience with campus traditions that include two bike races(Trike(Homecoming) and Tandem(Spring Week)) that are coordinated by Campus Recreation. Requirements: Candidates must possess a current Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED certifications. Assist in the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of approximately 5-10 Student Membership Services Representatives. Provide direct supervision to the Lead Building Supervisor & Lead Student Membership Services Representative. Communicate with members on all aspects of membership and usage policies. Maintain a level of knowledge about CSI Spectrum and oversee your areas functionality. Create, update, and maintain operational manuals for department staff related to customer service, POS, communication skills, transaction handling, software, and general departmental knowledge in align with industry standards. Oversee the creation and management of the student staff schedule. Contribute and maintain an innovative curriculum of student staff in-services that support and challenge staff to a high standard of service. Assist with assessment reports that may be requested by Associate Director of Operations. Assist Associate Director of Operations with membership management. Maintain inventory for the Campus Recreation Pro Shop. Oversee locker rental and turnover process. Assist in the staffing and management of Special Event Supervisor for special events for the department. Be knowledgeable of and provide information on all department facilities, programs, and services. Contribute to the ongoing development and facilitation of the department’s risk management plan. Actively participate in staff meetings and staff development activities sponsored by the department and division. Cover university resource fairs or any other type of outreach for the department.
