Reporting to the Director of Physical Education and Recreation, Director of Recreation Operations, Assistant Director in Physical Education is responsible for the daily recreation operations at Dodge Physical Fitness Center, including facility reporting and staffing, student development and marketing.
Assistant Director of Physical Education with daily management of the 150,000+ square foot Dodge Physical Fitness Center and Van check-out program, including scheduling as needed
Coordinate and implement all Recreation Operations hourly staff, casuals and work study, including but not limited to hiring, training, payroll, evaluation, and termination
Create a student development program dedicated to enhancing the student employment experience
Assist in establishing, approving, and monitoring budgets and expenditures, assuring compliance with University accounting and financial practices
Develop, evaluate, and revise policies, procedures, and operation protocols to ensure safe and well-managed facility
Maintaining and monitoring all recreational cardio, strength, and rental equipment. Tracking and inventory control of towels, locker keys, and rental equipment
Reporting and monitoring all custodial, mechanical, and electrical concerns of the facility, primarily recreation operations spaces. Coordinating with Assistant Director of Facilities to ensure project/work order completion
Provide guidance to the hourly marketing team, Creative Team, developing a marketing plan, develop marketing policies and procedures in consideration to existing Department and University policies, coordinate overall facility signage campaigns in recreation spaces, and distribute marketing pieces through facility and website updates
Providing excellent customer service to maintain the integrity of the athletic and recreation facilities
Duties as assigned in the required Physical Education program
Contributing to the maintenance of good working relationships with all members of the Department and assuming other duties as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education
Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with regard to adherence to NCAA, Ivy League, University, and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics code of ethics and rules and regulations
3-5 years of experience in recreation/facility operations.
American red cross lifeguard instructor certification
