This position is a multi-faceted assistantship where the individual gains experience overseeing the group fitness program, wellness programs, and management of a fitness facility. Duties include, but are not limited to, management of student group fitness instructors, scheduling classes, hiring, training, and supervision of campus fitness facility student staff, creating and leading faculty and staff wellness programs, and scheduling all facility hours.
Previous experience in facility management and/or prior experience within a fitness program either as a group fitness instructor or fitness employee is preferred.
Prior use of IMLeagues and/or WhenToWork is a plus. Must be able to obtain a CPR/AED/FA certification within first few months of hiring.
Graduate assistantship is contingent on acceptance into the Sports Administration M.S. program at Valparaiso University.
This is a 12 month position. Two year commitment preferred.
Additional Salary Information: 12-month stipend (paid bi-weekly) and tuition remission.
