POSITION SUMMARY:
Lead in the development and support of strategic financial planning, reporting, and overall management of fiscal operations. Develop, analyze, and interpret financial data and accounting information to evaluate operating results in terms of performance against organization financial objectives and budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization. Responsible for the areas of financial planning, budget management, financial reporting and analysis, capital project financing, fundraising/sponsorships, and core accounting functions. This position serves as the Fiscal Officer for the department, oversees three fulltime support staff, serves on the senior leadership team and reports to the Executive Director, Campus Recreational Sports.

QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) in business. Five years of experience with budget, payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, inventory control, accounts receivable and cash management. Knowledge of accrual accounting procedures and business processes. Advanced knowledge and experience with databases, spreadsheets, and other financial applications for data organization, analysis and reporting.
PREFERRED: BA or BS in business with a concentration in accounting or finance. CPA preferred. Experience in a higher education setting desirable. Experience with IU’s budgeting and planning, financial policies, purchasing, travel, auditing, IU Foundation policies, and computing systems (One.IU, Chrome River, Buy IU, IUIE, KFS, Crimson) preferred.
