Responsibilities include: - Management of the student trip leaders and all climbing wall staff (route setters, instructors, and floor supervisors) to include hiring, scheduling, evaluation.
- Manage the trips program; schedule trips, conduct pre-trip Risk Management assessments, and coordinate logistics with land managers.
- Manage the climbing wall; maintain a variety of routes that rotate regularly and oversee the belay certification process and instructors.
- Enforce the Outdoor Adventure works at heights policies and procedures for both the trips and climbing program, address risk management concerns, and oversee the training for working at heights.
- Collect, report, and assess data pertaining to the trips and climbing wall programs.
- Serve on university committees as requested
- Responsible for supervision and daily operations of the climbing wall which include but are not limited to maintenance, risk management, and general policy control.
Required Job Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Leisure Studies, Recreation Management or comparable degree.
- 1-3 years of responsible employment in Outdoor Recreation program field (A two year Graduate Assistantship will be considered as 1 year of full-time experience)
- Wilderness First Aid, CPR/First Aid
Preferred Job Qualifications - Master’s degree in Health, Leisure and Human Performance Studies or related area
- 3 years of experience supervising/managing an outdoor recreation program
- Wilderness First Responder
