ECU Campus Recreation and Wellness is currently recruiting interested applicants for multiple graduate assistant openings in Fall 2021. The priority application deadline for all openings is February 25, 2021 but positions remain open until filled. Compensation: $10,500 stipend for 9 1/2 months of employment. Full NC resident tuition and student fees included. Out-of-state students are responsible for the difference between non-resident and resident tuition. Group Fitness Graduate Assistant
Reporting to the Sr. Assistant Director of Fitness the incumbent has the following job responsibilities: - Collaborate with Sr. Assistant Director of Wellness & Fitness, Associate Director of Wellness & Fitness, Campus Recreation and Wellness team members, and student employees/interns to create a culture of well-being by offering world-class movement experiences and events.
- Collaborate and coordinate various well-being programs to ECU students located on Main Campus, Health Sciences Campus, Coastal Studies Institute, and distance education.
- Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, development, supervision, and evaluation of group fitness instructors, program assistants, and interns
- Create, evaluate, update, market, and publish group fitness schedule for a multi-site operation
- Evaluate data and provide regular reports on all aspects of the group fitness program.
- Teach 2 group fitness classes each week
- Serve as a teaching assistant for instructional programs (i.e ACE Group Fitness Instructor Academy).
- Create, implement, and evaluate incentive programs related to movement and exercise.
- Deliver and present on well-being related topics to constituents on and off campus.
- Serve on a work team or as a project manager to one or more well-being related events and programs (i.e. Fresh Check Day, Peace.Love.Pirates.Cure, Pledge Purple, Pleasure Principle, My Pirate Body, 4 What’s Next, American Heart Walk, Pirates Versus Cancer, etc)
- Research, create, and copywrite well-being related content for digital and print media.
- Assist with marketing, assessment, risk management and technology.

Facilities Graduate Assistant Reporting to the Coordinator of Customer Service and Facilities the incumbent has the following job responsibilities: - Participate in the student selection process, supervision, evaluation and payroll oversight for the CRW Facility Managers.
- Provide facility supervision in the absence of full time staff at the SRC, North Recreational Complex, Blount Fields and the HSC Recreation and Wellness Center as needed.
- Assist with administration of a site supervision plan incorporating facility attendants, facility managers, and other student staff members.
- Assist with facility management with an emphasis on large events such as organization fairs, tournaments, etc.
- Monitor website and social media to increase visibility of facilities and aquatic/safety services.
- Promote CRW facilities, aquatics and safety services through print, electronic, and personal contact (i.e. newsletters, website, open houses, etc.) in a professional manner.
- Assist with the CRW assessment administration process to report student engagement. .
- Assist with the scheduling/reservations, record keeping and logistical planning of intramural sports, club sports, fitness/group fitness programs, EXSS, Kinesiology, special events, ECU community and Greenville community events that take place at the SRC, NRC and Blount fields.
- Assist with administration of Safety Services programs, record keeping and documentation, and departmental risk management.
- Professional Development: Participate in activities that will enhance the graduate assistant’s skills and preparation towards future goals.
