Oversees all aspects of programming and external engagement for the Mort Harris Recreation & Fitness Center intramurals, club sports, and other programs within the Mort Harris RFC. Responsible for program student staff hiring, training, evaluation and supervision. Reports to Assistant Athletic Director.

Requires 2 or more years experience overseeing and running an intramural sports and club sports program. Knowledge of outdoor adventure programming and climbing walls and maintenance preferred. Minimum 2 years experience in sports officiating and training intramural sports officials in a wide variety of activities. Experience overseeing a part time staff.
Requires knowledge of intramural sports and club sports procedures and ability to adapt new policies and procedures as situations arise. Basic knowledge of sports equipment operation.

The Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center is a 78,000 square foot facility at Wayne State University located in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. Wayne State’s total enrollment is above 27,000 with the Mort Harris RFC serving all students recreational and wellness needs. The MHRFC provides programs in intramural sports, club sports, outdoor adventure, group fitness, and personal training. The Mort Harris RFC also includes outdoor spaces including a turfed intramural and club sports field to accommodate both programs that opened in the summer of 2020. The Mort Harris RFC operates within the Athletic Department and provides programs in all of our recreation and athletic facilities.
