Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating aquatics staff. Assist with the development, programming, and coverage of aquatics events. Assist with department risk management including “Red Shirt Drills” and maintaining records of all staff certification dates. Conduct staff training(s) and audits for aquatics staff as well as maintain First Aid supplies and kits for the building and programming. This Graduate Assistant will also have the opportunity to gain experience with campus traditions that include two bike races(Trike(Homecoming) and Tandem(Spring Week)) that are coordinated by Campus Recreation. This position may also gain experience in fitness programs if desired. Requirements: Candidates must possess a current Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED certifications. The Graduate Assistant of Operations reports directly to the Associate Director of Operations. This position has direct oversight for student staff. The position also have direct oversight of the Rec Council and will assist with Special Events that take place in the department. Requirements: Candidates should have experience as a rec sports/campus recreation student leader and previous facilities operation and/or membership services experience. The successful candidate will assist the Assistant Director with the coordination of intramurals and club sports programs. Intramural Sports Responsibilities: Coordinate the training, scheduling and evaluating sports officials and supervisors, conduct student staff meetings, scheduling games and create league and tournament brackets via imleagues.com, assist with onsite supervision of games, market programs, facilitate student staff payroll, conduct sport participant meetings, update and enforce policies, attend required Division of Student Affairs meetings/events and various university functions, maintain positive and professional attitude toward ISU and Campus Recreation, assist with other duties as assigned. Club Sports Responsibilities: Advise leadership of club sports organizations, provide leadership development, ensure risk management practices, assist clubs with budgeting, facility requests, marketing, and travel paperwork, assist with event supervision as needed, assist with the development of new clubs as the opportunity arises, attend required Division of Student Affairs meetings/events and various university functions, maintain positive and professional attitude toward ISU and Campus Recreation, assist with other duties as assigned.
