Job Summary: Director of Ice Hockey will be responsible for the budget, direction, administration, management, supervision and marketing of all ice hockey programming needs of the Goggin Ice Center. This position will be responsible for strategic planning to increase Hockey revenue for GIC.
Job Duties: Directs and evaluates all current hockey programs and polices while also developing new programs and strategic planning that supports Miami University and Goggin Ice Center mission. 0.3; Recruits, trains, and supervises all staff who support ice hockey programs to ensure all staff meet national body (USA Hockey) certification and standards. 0.2; Assists in developing and manages all ice hockey related program budgets. Has approval of expenditures of up to $1,500 0.2; Provides customer service support to all Goggin Ice Center patrons with an emphasis on recruitment, growth, and retention. 0.1; Directs the maintenance of all hockey program related equipment with an emphasis on risk management, patron/staff safety, and equipment longevity 0.1; Acts as Goggin Ice Center Manger on Duty and assists in evaluating Goggin Ice Center equipment, ice conditions, and safety for all staff and patrons. 0.1;
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of related experience; OR - 5 years of related experience; - 1st Aid/CPR (within first 90 days) and USA Hockey Coaching Certification (within first 12 months of employment)
Preferred Requirements: Master's degree. Candidate must have ability to make independent decisions; must be reliable, have strong communication and customer service skills; candidate must understand USA Hockey policies.
