The Assistant Director of Member Services provides dynamic, hands-on leadership for membership and member services needs of Campus Recreation. This position requires an individual with proven leadership experience capable of working on a fast-paced, results-oriented team. A vital component of this position is a demonstrated ability to work autonomously with initiative, critical and creative thinking, as well as a strong commitment to student development, collaboration, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
Provide oversight for Member Services operations including student staff, customer service, membership sales and renewals, program registration, pro shop sales and inventory, facility entry, and equipment checkout.
Develop and execute short- and long-term plans and goals that successfully achieve the mission of member services and the department.
Collaborate with the Director and Associate Director in establishing and achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual membership targets.
Manage member services budget including membership programming, pro shop, lockers, and supplies. Assist the Director in managing and meeting membership budget. Assist in monitoring monthly financial reports and daily deposits. Work with Campus Services Business Operations to reconcile discrepancies.
Manage Rec Rewards Program including marketing, requirements, enrollment, assessment data, visit verification, and reimbursements. Work with Fitness and Wellness team to develop Rec Rewards programming and retention efforts.
Coordinate member management system including system administration, development of policies and procedures, program or pricing changes, upgrades to system, and determination of special requests.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for selling, maintaining, and retaining memberships and program and service registration.
Develop and implement marketing strategies for membership and member services including membership promotions, special events and on-going membership retention efforts.
Coordinate member communications including, but not limited to: Campus Recreation newsletter; website; membership brochures, forms, and flyers; social media communications. Assist in development and execution of effective social media strategies and tracking results to demonstrate positive awareness and perception of Campus Recreation.
Develop feedback mechanism for both members and staff and analyze results to resolve problems and determine opportunities for further improvement.
Empower staff to provide quality, accurate, and timely customer service with a focus on delivery of consistent information and prompt solutions.
Develop/revise employee handbooks, policies and procedures as needed.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree.
Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Three (3) years of relevant experience.
Previous supervisory experience.
