The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Facilities Coordinator for the Recreation Center on the Dahlonega campus. The Coordinator, Facilities for the Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness serves the primary role of being responsible for the day-to-day facility operations of the Student Recreation Center and supports the Memorial Hall Pool facility as needed. Other duties include facility scheduling and event management, risk management and security, and facility operations on the Dahlonega campus. Additionally, the Facilities Coordinator will supervise a team of approximately 35 student employees and will oversee the delivery of customer service and student training and development. In addition to background checks for all cardholders, O.C.G.A. § 50,5,83 requires a credit check on all employees issued a purchasing card. Additionally, credit checks must be run at the time of P-Card renewal.
Manage day to day operations, scheduling and facility/event management of the Campus Recreation Center and Memorial Hall Pool on the Dahlonega campus. This includes facility and equipment maintenance, locker room management and fitness and facility rental operations.
Assess, research and evaluate facility rules and best practices to ensure patron safety and risk are being manages appropriately.
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate 35 Recreation Center student staff, through detailed job orientations at the start of employment as well as through regular staff meetings and leadership opportunities.
Serve as the main Campus Recreation contact for all incoming facility reservation requests for the Student Recreation Center and Memorial Hall pool. This position will collaborate with all Campus Recreation & Wellness program areas and program areas in the Hoag Student Center and Stewart Success Center that utilize recreation facilities to ensure all scheduled facility reservations and events have been coordinated, communicated and submitted via UNG Connect and EMS platforms.
Responsible for P-card transactions within the Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness and assists in managing other financials within the department. This includes utilizing and managing personal p-card statement and assisting in managing facility budgets.
Developing strong student employee teams focused on the customer experience;
Health, fitness and recreation based facilities and/or programs;
Facility operations, event management, and scheduling;
Managing a student staff; demonstrated expertise working collaboratively across multiple departments; and
Scheduling and coordinating events.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Four (4) years of experience within a student campus recreation center required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
CPR, AED, and First Aid within the first year of employment required
Bachelors degree preferred.
Prefer Experience in an office setting Working experience with databases preferred.
Experience with maintaining memberships and/or customer service experiences preferred.
Experience in the production of marketing materials preferred.
