Assist with Administration of all Intramural Sport programs. Assist with the supervision, hiring, training, and evaluating of Intramural Student Leads, Officials, and Scorekeepers. Help run varying intramural sports with differing levels of competition and student participation. Plan, organize, supervise, schedule, lead, and evaluate Intramural and specific events. Help to develop and present trainings for student leads, officials, student participants, and scorekeepers. Assist with the nightly supervision of all intramural games. Assist with the scheduling of student leads, officials, and scorekeepers through Microsoft Shifts. Assist with scheduling of games, contests, and tournaments through FusionIM.
Manage facility reservation requests for the Intramural Complex. Present information about Intramurals during campus wide events, Student Orientation (SOAR), Preview days and at other promotional opportunities. Assist with facilitating regular official and student lead staff meetings.
Regulate and enforce all Intramural Handbook policies and procedures to students, faculty and staff. Assist in conducting employee and participant disciplinary and ejection meetings. Research information for future events, programs, or projects. Experience training and evaluating student officials in multiple sports including flag football, basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball. Any other duties as assigned by the Coordinator or Assistant Coordinator of Intramural Sports.
The position is renewable through the 2022-2023 academic year based on first semester performance. The review process will begin on April 30, 2021.
Qualified candidates must be accepted by Tennessee Tech University Graduate School before the final offer can be made.
BS Degree required, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Recreation, Sport Management or related field preferred. Minimum of two years’ experience in an Intramural Sports program including officiating and supervising experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, word processing, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Proficient with all Microsoft office applications, Fusion, and Microsoft teams. Proven ability to recruit, develop, lead, supervise and motivate student employees at all levels. Positive attitude, great interpersonal skills, customer service, and knowledge of sports.
The Intramural Graduate Assistant is required to assist with the supervision and management of all aspects of Intramural Sports within the Department of Campus Recreation. Tennessee Tech is home to a brand new 157,000 square foot Fitness Center. This position will work within the Fitness Center and the 5-acre Intramural Complex. This position requires some daytime, evening, and weekend work. This position will work with and report to the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator of Intramural Sports.
