GENERAL PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Member Services Manager, the Member Services Supervisor is responsible for program registration, point of sale functions, staffing, customer service and day-to-day operations at the Aztec Recreation Center (ARC), ARC Express, Outdoor Spaces, and Racquetball facilities. The Member Services Supervisor recruits, hires, schedules, trains and supervises a staff of approximately 70 part-time students, and must be committed to student development and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a diverse campus population. This position will be highly involved with establishing policies and procedures related to the completion of ARC facility expansion project now in progress.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures the day-to-day operations of the Aztec Recreation Center, ARC Express, Outdoor Spaces, and Racquetball facilities are conducted in accordance with established service expectations and regulations
Recruits, hires, trains, schedules, supervises, evaluates and develops a part-time, student staff of 60-80 employees
Ensures accuracy of all member/participant registration activity
Serves as the frontline customer service representative (25% of scheduled work week)
Primary focus at the ARC
Serves as professional staff on-duty for supervision of part-time staff, programs and facilities
Ensures adequate supply of clean towels and laundry room is maintained at all times
Assists with collections and daily cash deposits
Assists with controlling unauthorized access into the facility from non-paying guests
Makes operational changes as needed to enhance membership growth
Recommends future revisions to policies, programs and facilities using member feedback
Maintains working knowledge of all programs and services available within Aztec Recreation
Minimum & Preferred Requirements
Four year degree from an accredited college or university required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Degree in job-related field preferred
Master’s degree preferred
Minimum two years’ supervision experience in a front-line customer service environment
Facility operations experience required
Prior sales and cash handling experience required Demonstrated experience in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, motivating and supervising large part-time staff
College/University experience preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required (certifications may be obtained within first month of employment)
Starting Range: $19.37 - $21.63 per hour, Hourly, Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE & WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a regular, full-time position. Flexibility and willingness to work long and irregular hours and days, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed by event schedule. This position will work a minimum of one late evening a week.

While working outdoors, the work environment may involve exposure to various elements including but not limited to: sun, heat/cold, dust, pollens and other environmental risks.
