The TerpZone is the bowling and billiards recreation center of STAMP. The Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the facility, including supervision of graduate and undergraduate student staff, programmatic efforts, and working closely with Marketing staff to develop an effective strategy to promote the facility and its programs to both on and off-campus customers.
The Manager will work to make the TerpZone a revenue-generating center, maximizing efficiencies in its operations.
Manage the recreation center. Responsible for the management of facility reservations and coordination with departments, student groups, and outside clientele. Manage facility repairs and coordinate repair efforts with contractual services and facility operations. Responsible for the day-to-day point of sales operations. The center includes 8 bowling alley lanes, 10 billiard tables, 4 TVs w/gaming consoles, TV lounge w/two projectors, snack bar, multipurpose room as well as various gaming equipment. Manage a $200,000 (approximately) budget.
Responsible for hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of a Graduate Assistant and approximately 20-25 student employees.
Develop innovative programmatic ideas for the Center and oversee all operations and the programming calendar, to include night and weekend programs. Responsible for the creation and oversight of competitive recreational programs, which also creates a shared experience for participants such as: leagues, tournaments, and clubs.Work in conjunction with Stamp Marketing in the preparation of appropriate marketing materials/strategies for all daily operation specials, special events/activities, and programs.
Serve as a liaison between The TerpZone and various University departments and offices, off-campus clientele, and vendors. Responsible for the maintaining of vendor relationships while searching to create new relationship partners.

Bachelor’s Degree required,
At least one year of full-time experience managing a facility similar to the TerpZone, or equivalent part-time experience, including as an undergraduate or graduate staff member,
OR at least one year of full-time program planning experience for a facility similar to the TerpZone or equivalent part-time experience, including as an undergraduate or graduate staff member.
Master’s Degree in related field, e.g. education, recreational and leisure studies, kinesiology, or business administration.
Experience in recreation management
Basic business and budgeting skills
Ability to incorporate student development in supervision and programming responsibilities
