University Recreation at the University of Arkansas is seeking candidates for an Assistant Director - Member Services and Events to help them achieve their mission to empower students for success through recreation and wellness. The Assistant Director will oversee the daily operations and management of the University Recreation membership experience, reservations, and technology services. University Recreation is a department within the Division of Student Affairs.
Components of this position include membership and operation assistance with UREC facilities, and scheduling, staffing and supervision of part-time personnel, fiscal responsibilities, and event management.
Qualifications include the following: Minimum
Master's degree in recreation, sports management, higher education, or related field from an accredited institution of higher education
At least two years demonstrated experience in university/collegiate recreational sports or facility operations
At least four years of professional experience
Experience with campus recreation software
Experience with membership services and engagement
Experience with student staff supervision
Experience with internal and external reservations
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of best practices in recreation and membership management
Knowledge of membership and facility management software
Knowledge of risk management procedures
Skilled in organization and time management
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Ability to balance heavy project load and information from two different groups
Ability to prioritize and meet stated deadlines
Ability to teach, delegate, and evaluate staff and peers
