The Facility Coordinator provides dynamic, hands-on leadership for the daily management and supervision of the Campus Recreation Center (CRC) and supplemental assistance with the Fitness Center at CARE/Crawley (FC). This position has significant staff, administrative and risk management responsibilities. A vital component of this position is a strong commitment to team work, customer service, and student development.
Supervise daily management of the 200,000+ square foot CRC and 12,000+ square foot FCCC facilities and equipment.
Manage revenue generating facility rental program. Coordinate internal and external one-time and recurring usage and tours, including College of Education, Club Sports, Department of Athletics, Career Fair, etc. Facilitate logistics, contracts, insurance, payment, etc.
Coordinate communication to members and the campus community including: distribution of rental calendar bi-weekly, facility rental signage, website hours of operation, and voicemail updates.
Utilize CSI member management software including event management, program registration, reporting, etc.
Coordinate maintenance needs, ensure completion of work orders, maintain lighting program, and conduct preventative maintenance of CRC and FCCC
Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, supervise, and evaluate climbing wall staff. Coordinate employee orientations and student staff meetings. Develop/revise employee handbooks and trainings.
Manage and direct the daily operations of the climbing and bouldering wall.
Instruct skills and safety classes, and provide orientation and in-service training programs.
Develop, evaluate, and revise policies, procedures, and operation protocols to ensure safe and well-managed facility.
Develop an approved budget for purchases/repairs and supervise payroll for student staff.
Maintain accurate participant and program data and compile usage reports, compile facility usage reports each semester.
Coordinate department projects as assigned.
Collaborate with Conference and Event Services on campus events involving the CRC and/or FCCC.
Serve on the Campus Recreation Student Development committee and other university committees, including Commencement.
Assist in administering and managing Bearcat card access system, KeyWatcher key management system, ID and key requests, alarm code activation, security systems, and loading dock access for both facilities.
Provide support to Assistant Director of Facility Operations as needed.
Assist with capital projects, renovations, and facility housekeeping issues.
Assist in supervision of Facility Operations student staff.
Assist in development and management of Team Building program.
Ability to assist in event setup that may require lifting in excess of 30lbs.
Other duties as assigned.
Three (3) years of relevant experience.
Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Strong communication, organization, management, leadership and professional skills.
Proven commitment to student and staff development and customer service.
A demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem solve, and meet deadlines.
Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of a goal-oriented team.
Strong background in recreation, athletic or facility operations
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.
Administrative skills including strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
Analytical skills to identify problems, assess alternatives, render consistent and logical decisions.
Experience in Climbing Wall operations.
Experience with event planning and facility scheduling
Salary Range: $40,000-$44,000, Commensurate with experience. About benefits
