The team at Campus Recreation provides facilities, programming, and recreational activities to inspire the University of Cincinnati and surrounding community to reach and maintain their fitness and wellness goals. Providing comprehensive leadership, this senior level position defines programs and activities, coordinates the development of short- and long-range goals and objectives, provides strategic planning, fiscal development and oversight, and staff development and management.
Serve as a member of the senior leadership team and work collaboratively to achieve the mission, vision and goals of the department.
Actively participate in developing and achieving short- and long-range planning, strategy and goals and objectives.
Provide direct and/or indirect supervision for professional, student and contract staff. (i.e., hire, train, direct, develop, evaluate, etc.)
Develop, direct, supervise and evaluate the administrative, operational, and financial activities of all programs, services, and facilities including but not limited to, fitness, wellness, aquatics (including rentals), intramural sports, camp, and birthday parties.
Provide oversight for fitness floor operations including repair and replacement of fitness equipment at the Campus Recreation Center and Fitness Center.
Provide oversight for formulation and coordination of safety and risk management plans including the facilitation of staff training and certification.
Provide fiscal development and oversight in area specific and department’s operating and capital budgets.
Establish fees and charges, prioritize purchase requests, approve expenditures and payroll, etc.
Create an environment that supports development opportunities for professional and student staff and encourages innovation, creativity and collaboration.
Provide direction and oversight for area specific needs of member management system including but not limited to program registration, facility scheduling, etc.
Coordinate area specific marketing and assessment efforts, reports, and participation data development and analysis.
Ensure offerings are responsive to the needs and interests of members/guests and identify and resolve service issues.
Assume lead in various department responsibilities related to marketing, student development, special events, etc.
Maintain professional knowledge and best practices as well as strong understanding of programming trends.
Formulate and implement program policies, operational procedures and risk management plans that reflect best practices.
Work collaboratively with Campus Services’ Business, Marketing and IT departments.
Serve as a liaison to select department and university work teams and committees.

Nine (9) years of work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement
Ability to lead and work in a team-based environment as well as work independently.
Analytical skills to identify problems, assess alternatives, render consistent and logical decisions.
Strong communication, organization, management, leadership and professional skills.
Manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
Proven commitment to student and staff development and customer service.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
Experience with Daxko/Spectrum CSI.
Salary Range: $60,000-$75,000, Commensurate with experience. About benefits
