The primary purpose of this position is providing leadership by providing a safe, inclusive, and accessible environment within the Competitive Gaming community. The Assistant Director of Competitive Gaming is responsible for organization, recruiting and supervising the competitive gaming community and Esports program that will further the wellness, personal, social and academic development of Central Michigan University students.
Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Broadcasting, Computer Sciences, Sports Coaching, Education, or a related field. Two years of experience in recruiting students, coaching and/or competitive play. Proven and exhibited knowledge of gaming components and gaming competition. Proven ability to manage and lead people and/or projects. In-depth knowledge of competitive, online PC gaming across multiple platforms. Strong organizational and communication skills, and attention to detail. Ability to inspire individuals and help them grow. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
