Southern Illinois University’s Touch of Nature Environmental Center, located 10 miles south of the main campus in the Shawnee National Forest, is hiring a Program Coordinator of Hospitality Services. The person in this position is responsible for and coordinates all aspects of a comprehensive hospitality services program, including scheduling of all available facilities for functions at the Center, for use by student organizations, campus departments, agencies of the State of Illinois and other states, and the public. Duties include coordinating the use of space, facilities, lodging, food and beverage, including alcohol, ordering and service, catering, hiring, training and supervision of staff, program development, program marketing, planning, organization, the assembly of data, and preparation of administrative reports.
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. A total of two (2) years (24 months) management experience in hospitality, food service, event management and/or an outdoor education center environment.*
3. Based on position requirements, additional education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.
