The Assistant Director for Fitness and Wellness will serve as a leader within the Recreation Center and direct the development of comprehensive fitness and wellness programs that meet the needs of the university community. Additional responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training and evaluating all staff for the two programs and instructing courses within the Lifetime Physical and Summer Youth Activity Programs.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, health, human performance, or related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, health, human performance, or related field. At least three years related experience coordinating or overseeing a fitness and/or wellness program. Must be highly organized, possess conflict resolution skills, and demonstrate initiative and creative thinking. Must present a professional image and have excellent written, oral, and presentation skills. Must have the ability to lead, train and mentor employees. Must have the ability to make sound judgments and decisions in a calm manner.
Additional Salary Information: Starting salary based on experience and qualifications.
